Icon-painting workshop "Heritage" is located in the village of Mstera, Vladimir region. All artists in our workshop have

Since ancient times Mstera has been one of the centers of icon painting in the Vladimir-Suzdal land. Some of the Mstera icon painters became

suppliers of the imperial and grand ducal courts. In the prayer room of Tsar Nicholas there were icons of Mstera writing.

The icons of Mstera craftsmen, elegant, delicate writing, were considered one of the best in Russia and were highly valued. Before the revolution in

Mstera had a large number of large and small icon-painting workshops. After the revolution, a factory was organized

Proletarian art, artists began to paint papier-mâché boxes. In the 80s, icon painting began to revive. Msterskie

artists returned to their origins.
